A Virtual Beer Mile fundraiser you say? I am not familiar with this, please explain.

I like beer, challenges and donating to help families in need...cause I rock! You do rock! Get a group of friends, grab your favorite local brew, maybe throw on a costume and plot out your course. It's time to chug and run our 1st Annual Virtual Beer Mile!

Here is the story of the Beer Mile: In the vast world of extreme sports, there exists a sub-culture at its heart best known as "digestive athletics." The most famous, glorified, respected, and celebrated of all the events of this underworld is the Beer Mile. The foundation of any true beer mile is built upon two things: drinking beer and running a mile. The most common format of the beer mile requires a single participant to drink a full-sized beer, run a quarter mile, then repeat the process three times. This results in the consumption of four beers and the running of four quarter miles (hence the beer mile). The entire process is timed. The total time is often used as a measuring stick of competency. Since we have cancelled all of our in-person events during this crisis, we have decided to hold our inaugural Beer Mile virtually.

Be a part of something stoooopid crazy fun this year and then join us in person when we can compete together next year!

Check out all the official Beer Mile Rules here: https://www.beermile.com/rules

Be Creative! Have an itch to compete in your favorite Batman costume? Spongebob? One of the Avengers? Rick and Morty? Cosplay character? Lime green body suit? Just be yourself, you can do anything you want! After your run, take your race pics and finish time to www.rock4reason.org. Post your best shot on our race page (no nudes please) and your race time on our leader-board which will be up and running at the start of the event on August 15th.

What is a Virtual 5K Charity Run? I'm not a drinker or I just don't want to chug and run. But I am an awesome person who wants to donate to a great cause while challenging myself. Excellent! You're right, you are an awesome person!

Choose our Virtual 5K instead! Head to a local park, school, around your neighborhood or 125x up and down your driveway. Compete with your friends, family or run it solo, the choice is yours.

There's not even an official starting line. That's the kind of flexibility offered by virtual races, a new trend in the running community. Runners who sign up for a virtual race register online and simply choose their own starting line, whether it's a treadmill, a neighborhood street or your own backyard! It may seem strange to traditional runners, but race organizers say the virtual race is a great option for those who want convenience. It's unclear when virtual racing made the leap online to a mass audience. Some race directors say it evolved from runners’ requests to participate in physical races from afar. Regardless, in recent years virtual racing has exploded in popularity, mostly because of its flexibility. Complete either the Beer Mile or the 5K (or both!) anywhere you choose between August 15th and September 30th. Don't forget to go to www.rock4reason.org and post your time on our race page leader-board and send us your favorite race day pics too! The leader-board will be available at the start of the event on August 15th.

Every dollar raised goes directly to helping families in the Mahoning Valley. We are all volunteer and we like it that way!
